The Perfect Day

Ongoing Project! Check back for updates.

This is the first project post so I apologize if my style comes across “clunky”.  I’ll find my rhythm with time.

A man approached me and asked if I could sink this picture in epoxy for him.

After some back and forth, we decided on this layout with an 8x10 photo, red oak stain.

8x10, sure, but I had not considered aspect ratio.

6 inches isn’t going to cut it.  Larger 8×14 photo paper ordered.

Size looks better. I corrected the ink later (see too much yellow in the pic?)
picture with roller mark
Can you see the horizontal line in the reflection about 2/3 of the way up? "Roller Marks". I need to fix this if I can.
not a good picture
I missed taking the pic of the printer exploded into pieces all over my workbench so this pic will half to do. Overall, I'm thinking a piece of plastic warped. Couldn't fix it.

So if you can't fix it... test it!!!

The epoxy light refraction hides the marks.  Should be good to go.

Now that I have the picture size, I know what size to cut the board.

I'm really happy with the way the stain came out.

Now it needs to set for 3 days before the next step.  Work begins again 11/05/26.

Check back on or after the 6th for more progress updates!
